Yesterday afternoon I had a conversation with a gentleman who's opening a pawnshop in the upper Midwest. During this conversation with him - a very pleasant and fun one I might add - I said something to him that I did not feel I would ever have the occasion to say.
I told him "You will benefit from the Pawn Shop Advisor(tm) coaching program. I'm sure you'll find some tidbits and techniques you can implement into your operation. But you certainly will not benefit nearly as much as many of the pawnbrokers who are currently clients of mine."
Not benefit nearly as much? Why would I tell him that?
Because he turned out to be one pretty amazing gent. His resume of business experience is astounding. A highly successful CPA firm - a direct response marketer from way back - an automobile dealer - a gold buyer - and who knows how much more experience. On top of that, one of his friends runs a very progressive high-end pawnshop.
His string of successes tells me that he's an entrepreneur who take himself very seriously. And his raft of diverse business experience tells me he will become a highly successful pawnbroker. I'm sure you may have had some interesting and diverse business experiences before opening your pawnshop. I know I did - but nothing like this gentleman.
First off - he's a numbers guy. Many of the systems and processes in the Pawn Shop Advisor(tm) coaching program having to do with numbers. The right numbers - important metrics to monitor your pawnshop business in ways that I rarely see done in our industry. Numbers that put you at a strong advantage - able to adjust and tweak your business on a moments notice.
Secondly - he's a marketer. Marketing pawnshop goods and services is the biggest section in the Pawn Shop Advisor(tm) coaching program. And I'm not just talking about copying what everyone else in the industry is doing. As a matter of fact, I recommend that you look at what everyone else in the industry is doing and figure out how to do the opposite. I show you how in the program. I'm sure this gentleman understands this. Do you?
Third - he's a salesman. When it comes down to running a pawnshop, nothing happens until something gets sold. Selling loans - selling purchases - selling merchandise - selling our industry - and most importantly selling yourself. Every section of the Pawn Shop Advisor(tm) has something to do with sales. Becoming a better salesperson makes you a better pawnbroker. I've got a feeling this gent can sell. When's the last time you studied something on sales?
By the time we finished our discussion I was genuinely excited about this gent's new venture - and hoping that somehow I could play a small part in his success. Of course, I've been around enough to know that someone with this much business experience - and in a diverse number of fields - will not require information for me to make a go of it.
But yet - I'm confident I can provide him with enough additional information to benefit him in his new pawnshop business. I'm also confident I can do exactly the same thing for you - no matter how long you've been a pawnbroker - no matter how successful you currently are. This is because there is always something new to learn - always a better way to do things.
Imagine what it would be like to have an owner's manual for your pawnshop. If you can picture that, you can also envision what it's like being a pawnbroker who is a client of mine and has the Pawn Shop Advisor(tm) coaching program http://www.pawnshopadvisor.com/main.cfm at their side.
Sure you can be highly successful on your own in your pawnshop. But with your experience combined with mine in the Pawn Shop Advisor(tm) http://www.pawnshopadvisor.com/main.cfm you can turn your business into one pretty amazing pawnshop.
Keep your eye on the target and your mind on the goal,
